The Weekend Roundup, 'K'

It is Friday and time for Tom's fun meme The Weekend Roundup. Today's letter created an interesting challenge which prompted a look into the past at another eclectic collection of shots...

Begins with 'K' gave me a chance to showcase our then non-grownup Kids. This is the first day of school in August 1997, with Allegra and Cameron beginning the fourth and second grade her.

Key West is another 'K'. Here at the southernmost point of the USA us my Aunt Terry in 1993

How about our King of this Jungle, the always regal Linus McDonald? Or is that HRH Linus?

Kaboom. Patti captured this brilliant ruby red fireworks kaboom in Manchester, Connecticut

Favorite. This is a lovely striped sunset over our back yard in Ansonia. It is the soothing end of the day. Have a great weekend!

The Weekend Roundup 'K'

It is Saturday and time again for Tom's fun meme, The Weekend Roundup. The letter 'K' is featured this week and now I'm reminiscing...

'K' is for Kids and on he left is the first day of school 1995. Our son Cameron was in Kindergarten and his sister Allegra was the (sort of :) older and wiser going into second grade. This is a sentimental favorite...to the right is nine years later and the sentimental parents asked if they could reprise the pic as it was the first day of high school, she (again) the more experienced one going into eleventh grade. Little or big, Kids bring cute memories...

Another (but not unexpected) 'K' is Kitty, and here is our fluffy and furry family feline, Linus McDonald, in the usual places and activities...in a box and fast asleep. Nothing new here!
The favorite this week is the cool view captured The always lovely Patti at Witek Park in Derby CT. It is a great illusory pic that includes the side view mirror looking up. Does the water reflect the sky...or is it the other way around?

Friday Hunt 2017.2.5

Friday returns and it is time again for the fun photo meme Friday Hunt, hosted by Teresa. The prompts this edition are great and I am ready...

Starts with 'E'. The first is a town I grew up in suburban East Hartford, CT. The house on Wickham was the Villers abode, and I have two from 1963, around Christmastime, before and after a snowfall. I was aged 9 (Grade 3, O'Connell School) on the bicycle. See the kids jumping rope - TV was only only electronic device and mom made us go outside "to get some air"...

Drops. Here is in 2003, along I-195 as I am driving the family is on our way to a Cape Cod. It rained on the way, and who wants rain at the beach? As I recall, the plentiful rain drops ended before we arrived in Hyannis.
Happy. The first day pf school, August 30.1995. Our son Cameron starting Kindergarten, our daughter Allegra (much more experienced going into second grade :) posing with genuine smiles as they await school to begin. Happy indeed!

Friday Hunt 2016-2.22

It is Friday, and time for the next installment of Friday Hunt, Teresa's fun clue meme. Here are mine for the week:

Starts with 'V'. Of course, the obvious for me is Villers. This pic was taken at a family vacation on the Jersey Shore barrier island of Brigantine, July 1969. It is the entire Villers clan at the time, from Ralph and Agnes (lower right), my father (center) and his sister, our Aunt Terry (holding baby). For my grandparents, they had only two children they had 13 grandkids (Terry's sixth was born in 1971). Cool pic and like a few weeks ago, the late '60s style is seen. I'm wearing the gold blazer - where's the chain?
Week's Favorite: Patti wrote an article for Tuesday's Valley-Voice newsletter about local sports aficionado Rich Marazzi was hosting a talk about his book about the Historic Yale Bowl. This is my fave today as we see the screen, we barely see Mr. Marazzi and we see the laptop image of the slide. I like the layered look of this presentation...
Thanks: I am very thankful for our family, the four of us together. On the left is the first day of school in 1996. Third and first grades, always good kids. Alas, they do grow up, but we were all together for Thanksgiving yesterday. Thanks to Teresa for hosting this meme too :)
