The Weekend Roundup, 'L'

Today is the first day of Autumn, but more importantly, Friday and time again for Tom's fun meme The Weekend Roundup. This week's letter. 'L', offered a multitude of subjects and here are mine...

Lake. This old print is the end of day at Big Stony Lake in Minnesota. One of over 13000 lakes in the Gopher state, it is about four hours northwest of the Twin Cities - a world away!

How about Legs? I attempted to capture Patti and co-workers at her colleagues at a wedding a while ago. It was taken at wheelchair height and I guess I lost focus you might say :) BTW, the always lovely Patti is in Blue...

Here is Long Island Sound in West Haven Connecticut

Here is a fabulous desert, Lava Cake. served with vanilla bean gelato, and a lake of chocolate. Yum!

Favorite. Here is a cheap solar light by our driveway with an interesting spider motif as the light illuminates the asphalt. Happy Weekend to all!

The Weekend Roundup - 'W'

It is Friday in Southern New England and time for this week's fun meme, The Weekend Roundup, hosted by Tom. Away we go!

Begins with 'W'. We start with daughter Allegra as she Walks by the Water of Long Island Sound in West Haven, CT
The same young lady above was really little once. Here (9-10 months?) she is trying out a Walker to amble around our Derby apartment
Of course, there are Weddings. Here is my niece Julie in 2015.
Water, and a Favorite too! Just a couple of geese relaxing by Pickett's Pond at Osbornedale State Park in Derby CT. It is a serene scene indeed. Thanks Tom!

The Weekend Roundup 'L'

It is a warm(ish) Saturday in March, so again time for Toms fun meme, The Weekend Roundup. My 'L' submittals are as follows...

This Lighthouse is at Five Mile Point on Long Island Sound entering the New Haven Harbor in Connecticut. Built in 1847, it is 80 ft (24 M) tall.
This reception at LuLu Pazzo Italiano restaurant. It was a Luscious array with Lots of fabulous eats including yummy (and hot) stuffed peppers, olives and mortadella. It was a Lovely event!
This old pic is from Luxembourg when I visited in 1982.
Long. This was one my Grandfather's last vehicles before he passed away in 1981. This is a true Land barge, a 1971 Chrysler  Three Hundred. It was really long at 224.7 inches (5,710 mm). I drove it a few times - it was had to keep tack of it...but with a big 440 V-8, it moved along nicely :)
Favorite. How about this squirrel perched upon a Firestone on my Grand Caravan. The squirrels in our yard
are rather endearing!

Friday Hunt, 2017.1.13

It is a rainy, windy and cold Friday in Southern New England - so safely ensconced inside, it is time for this week's edition of Teresa' fun photo meme Friday Hunt. Following are my look at this week's clues...

Starts with 'M'. There is Maryland, the seventh state of the Union and also, curiously, the Mason-Dixon Line which is a demarcation between Maryland and Pennsylvania and Delaware. This was taken along US-1 in August 2000 on a family vacation. Note that our destination was Lancaster PA, but wanting the kids enter a few more states, we took a more circuitous route that included Delaware and Maryland - too bad we couldn't include these additional states in their passports...
Week's Favorite. Patti and our daughter Allegra attended an Easter egg decorating class. This is a nice example of a well-designed egg and the candle that melted the beeswax.

Water. This is the small Saybrook Breakwater Lighth that lies at the confluence of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound at Old Saybrook, CT. Lots of briny seawater here. Thanks Teresa!
