Begins with 'N' starts with New York City. These first photos are from the 1957 Easter Parade in the borough of Manhattan. My grandmother and Aunt Terry had stylish Easter Hats, my aunt's looking like a 1950s flying saucer!
Next is homemade black bean chili Nachos we made. They were good, but Tex-Mex restaurant nachos are prettier (if not tastier :)
Favorite. The always lovely Patti was inside the Derby (CT) United Methodist Church the other day. As sunset arrived, the glow from the stained glass windows was beautiful. And in the second window, the Easter story is told. This church was opened in 1894, and as we have guessed - they don't really build them like they used to. Thanks for the prompts Tom!
...hopefully Aunt Terry didn't tkr off with that hat. I remember my mom and sister's hats at Easter back in the day. Those homemade black bean chili nachos look might good. What wonderful window, Ralph you are right, they don't build them the way they use to! Thanks for stopping by, let's do it again next week.
ReplyDeleteThe nachos look awesome! Love the stained glass windows. I love hats. I really wish they would make a come back, well maybe not the flying saucer type. :) Enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! It's been a long time since I've been in New York. We used to go to the Macy's Day Parade on Thanksgiving in the late 1990's It was fun, something we did for about 5 years. Have a good week, Ralph!
